You and I, we are only human. We’re fallible, we’re going to make mistakes. We have the capability for rational and irrational thought. We can love, we can hate.
We often use the idea of being “only human” as an explanation. And, in fact, I think it’s a great reminder of the fact that we are not gods, we are mortal. In fact, we are animals.
But consider that Steve Jobs is only human. Mother Teresa was only human. Ghandi, only human. Look at what they did, with the same type of bodies, and tools that we have (and, in two of those cases, less.)
So what is “only human”?
I think it’s whatever we let ourselves be.
