Am I watching the game or playing it?

It’s easy to sit back and watch a baseball or football game on TV. It’s obviously a lot harder to play. I just think of all the reward players get from playing the game hard and right.

It’s easy to sit back and let other people do things. Start companies, change the world, make an impact. I look in awe at people like Barack Obama, Steve Jobs, etc. But what made them who they are? They didn’t pack it in, they persisted, they kept playing.

Sometimes, I make sure to ask myself if I’m playing the game. Because I don’t want to be in the stands watching, taking the easy road. I want to be on the field, taking chances, working hard, living the best life I can.

  1. But if you don’t watch, at least for a while, how will you learn? Just be careful not to settle back in your seat with a beer and a hot dog.
